Role Overview
A confidential employer in the agricultural manufacturing and solutions sector is seeking a commercially driven Sales Representative to establish, develop, and grow its footprint within crop-focused agricultural markets. This opportunity is suited to a proactive sales professional who understands farming environments, has access to relevant agricultural networks, and can convert market opportunity into sustainable revenue.
The successful candidate will engage directly with farmers, cooperatives, distributors, contractors, and agricultural decision-makers to promote product adoption, strengthen brand presence, and support long-term commercial growth.
This is a true new business development role for a self-managed individual who can create opportunities, build trust in the market, and deliver measurable sales outcomes across a growing territory.
Location & Territory
- Flexible / remote, ideally based in the Western Cape or surrounding agricultural regions.
- Initial territory includes the Western Cape, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal.
- Regular regional travel will be required to visit clients, develop new accounts, and support market expansion nationally over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within crop-focused agricultural markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives, distributors, contractors, and agricultural decision-makers.
- Introduce, promote, and position a specialised agricultural product range within new and existing agricultural channels.
- Build an active sales pipeline through prospecting, client visits, referrals, and market intelligence.
- Grow revenue by converting opportunities into sustainable customer accounts and long-term product adoption.

Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification is essential.
- Strong agricultural network with existing industry relationships.
- Practical exposure to crop farming environments.
- Crop farming experience is essential; livestock-only experience is not aligned to this role.
- Proven ability to develop new business and manage client relationships.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regionally.
Preferred Experience
- Agriculture, agronomy, crop production, irrigation, or agricultural management background.
- Previous sales experience within agriculture or a related technical product environment.
- Experience working with growers, farming operations, distributors, cooperatives, or agricultural contractors.
- Ability to understand practical farming challenges and recommend suitable product solutions.
- Strong commercial drive, self-discipline, and confidence to work independently across a defined sales territory.
